The Royal Foundation of St Katharine’s is a unique meeting rooms venue set in an extraordinary urban oasis. All our rooms offer plenty of natural light, with many overlooking our beautiful enclosed gardens. The rooms vary in style, from the listed Georgian house, to the modern and contemporary rooms refurbished in 2019.
St Katharine’s is easily accessible via excellent public transport links. We are just by Limehouse Station on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR), which runs directly to Bank and Tower Gateway stations (5 minutes) where the London Underground can be joined. It is on the main dedicated cycle way between Canary Wharf and the City/West End.
Located in Zone 2, St Katharine’s is perfectly positioned for access to the attractions of London’s West End. For the theatre goer, the shopper, or those who wish to explore London’s historic sites, St Katharine’s provides a great base. For those who wish to explore the more immediate East End, St Katharine’s is walking distance from many local attractions.
Chapter Room
Located in the Georgian part of the building with fantastic views over the garden. A truly unique setting for holding informal meetings and afternoon tea.
In this room are classical landscapes and seascapes from the late 18th or early 19th Century, based on Claude’s Arch of Titus and the landing of Aeneas.

Queen Elizabeth Conference Room
This is our largest conference room and can seat up to 70 delegates. Enjoying excellent views of our garden, the room is fully equipped with AV equipment and air conditioning. The room can be set up in a variety of seating configurations to suit a large number of meetings and events. It is named after Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, who was Patron of St Katharine’s from 1953 up until her death in 2002.

Queen Matilda Room
Located in the Georgian part of the building, this room offers fantastic views over the garden. It is a truly unique setting for holding formal dinners or board meetings for up to 14 delegates. Queen Matilda, the wife of King Stephen, founded the Hospital of St Katharine by the Tower in 1147. She set up St Katharine’s with a Master, three Brethren, three Sisters and six poor clerks.

Ratcliffe
This meeting room can host up to 16 delegates and is equipped with AV equipment. The room is located next to the Queen Elizabeth room and can be set up in a variety of seating configurations to suit a large number of meetings and seminars. It is named after the area of Ratcliffe, a former hamlet lying by the north bank of the River Thames between Shadwell and Limehouse.

Woodard Reading Room
Located in Chapelside, this is a secluded space ideal for personal retreats, coaching sessions, and as a writing room. The space is suitable for up to 4 people. The room is named after Nathaniel Woodard, a Church of England priest, who founded 11 schools in England. His aim was to provide an education based on “sound principle and sound knowledge”, firmly grounded in the Christian faith.

St. John Groser Room
This meeting room can host up to 40 delegates and is equipped with AV equipment and air conditioning. The room has natural daylight, with a skylight and direct access to the adjoining studio outside. The Studio is an ideal private space for breakout groups or for refreshments to be served. The room can be set up in a variety of seating configurations to suit a large number of meetings and events. It is named after the Rv St John Groser who re-established the life of St Katharine’s here in 1948 to provide a Christian retreat centre.

Queen Eleanor Room
This meeting room can host up to 15 delegates and is equipped with AV equipment. The room can be set up in a range of different layouts to suit your needs. It was named after Queen Eleanor, who granted a new Charter to “the Hospital of St. Katharine” in 1273.

Queen Philippa Room
Located in Chapelside, this is a secluded space ideal for personal retreats, coaching sessions, and as a writing room. The space is suitable for up to 3 people. The room is named after Queen Philippa who drew up new regulations to shape St Katharine’s life in 1351. This included the numbers of Church Services, as well as rules for dress, hairstyles and the community’s behaviour.

THE SNUG
A bright and relaxed space ideal for informal meetings or breakout sessions of up to 6 people. Located in the new wing, it offers great accessibility to the lounge and reception.

Platinum Jubilee Room

St James' Garden Room
