The Lyric Hammersmith Theatre has a range of multi-art facilities, entertaining spaces and conference suites to meet the needs of businesses, communities, individuals and families.
We are not your average event space – we’re a Victorian Frank Matcham theatre at our core, with our own Bar and an extension – the Reuben Foundation Wing, which was opened in 2015 and houses two floors of facilitates including a recording studio, Film & TV Studio, music rooms and numerous rehearsal and meeting spaces.
We regularly host conferences, meetings, office parties, rehearsals, filming and recording sessions, community events and rooftop socials.
Main House
Our beautiful Victorian Frank Matcham designed theatre provides a striking backdrop for any event.
Refurbished in 2018 with 591 fixed seats across three levels. For smaller conferences, it can be hired stalls-only for groups up to 328.
Please note that unfortunately our Main House is not available to hire for external theatre productions and performances that are for sale to the general public.
Studio Theatre
The Studio is an ideal setting for performances, events, meetings, conferences or staging presentations and workshops.
The Studio is 11.8 by 10.8 metres square and seats 110 people.

Rehearsal Room 1
Rehearsal Room 1 is located at the front of the building and leads directly onto our Roof Garden.
This space is incredibly versatile allowing for conferences for up to 100, performances for up to 60, rehearsals and creative sessions.
The Tea and Talk Room is available as a side hire to our Rehearsal Room 1, which can serve as a kitchenette and green room.
Rehearsal Room 1 is 11.5 by 10.5 metres and can hold up 80 people theatre-style.
Rehearsal Room 2
Rehearsal Room 2 leads directly onto our backstage area and is the largest of our rehearsal spaces.
With easy goods lift access, this space works well for larger scale presentations and press conferences.
Rehearsal Room 2 is 13.8 by 11.5 metres and can hold up to 100 people theatre-style.
Rehearsal Room 3
Newly refurbished Rehearsal Room 3 is perfect for small productions or as an addition to the larger rehearsal rooms . Ideal for musical calls, dance calls and use as wardrobe.
Rehearsal Room 3 is 11.1 by 6.9 metres.
Dance Studio
A dance studio available with mirrors and bars.
Available for rehearsals and creative sessions. The Dance Studio is 7.9 by 13 metres.
Creative Space
The Creative Space is located at the front of the building with easy access from the entrance to the building.
This space can be hired for workshops, creative sessions and trainings days.
The Creative Space is 13 by 9 metres.
Music Practice Room 3
The largest music practice room, 'MP3', is a music room that can also be used as a meeting space.
MP3 is 10.2 by 5.5 metres and seats 24 people boardroom style.
Music Practice Rooms 1 & 2
Our two smaller music practice rooms are versatile spaces available for hire.
These rooms are perfect for one on one meetings, music rehearsals and training sessions. They are 3.8 by 2.5 metres and are available to hire with keyboards.
Lyric Bar
Our Lyric Bar is a thriving daytime and evening bar serving delicious snacks and fine cocktails.
Combined with the Roof Garden, Lyric Bar and our Front of House areas can hold up to 300. These spaces can be hired alone for parties, events and launches. Conferences and events in the Main House and/or Studio can use these areas for lunch and dinner entertaining.
Film & TV Studio
A professional film and television studio with green screen and easy load-in.
The Film and TV Studio is 11.1 by 6.9 metres.
Recording Studio
A spacious recording studio with attached control room.
The studio is available to hire for voiceover work and recording sessions. The Recording Studio live room is 5.5 by 8 metres.
Orr Room
The Orr Room is a light and open meeting space.
Available in boardroom, theatre or horseshoe set up, the space can hold events from 6 to 60.
The Orr Room can hold 60 people standing and 50 people theatre-style. Boardroom style it can seat up to 30.
Roof Garden
The Roof Garden is a green paradise in the heart of Hammersmith in West London
This space is very popular for corporate entertaining and private parties and events. With catering available from the Lyric Bar, the Roof Garden offers something truly unique.
The Roof Garden is available to as an area booking to celebrate a special occasion with friends. The Roof Garden can be hired non-exclusively for up to 80 people.
Elston Room
Our Elston Room is a smart, modern classroom.
The Elston Room is ideal for meetings, presentations and training. The space is 8 by 7 metres with an additional annexe. It can seat 30 people horse-shoe style.
