Bush Theatre

The Bush Theatre, housed in a beautiful Victorian library just off Shepherd’s Bush Green, offers a unique venue within a buzzing and creative environment.

The Bush Theatre has a range of spaces for hire, all wheelchair accessible, perfect for rehearsals, filming locations, meetings or away-days, conferences and parties. We also offer whole building hires and have spaces suitable for 5 – 250 people depending on your needs.

Alen-Buckley Script Library

The Alen-Buckley Script Library is a stunning room lined with book shelves and atmospheric lighting. It is perfect for all kinds of events including dinners, parties, live music and meetings.

Attic

The Attic is a lovely neutral space situated at the top of the building with lift access. There is plenty of natural light with blackout blinds for performances.

Studio

The Studio is situated on the ground floor at the rear of the building. A light space with high windows, it’s perfect for rehearsals, meetings and presentations. Available as a black box or theatrical configuration.

Holloway Theatre

The Holloway Theatre is our largest space, which offers a range of flexible configurations that are popular for private showcases, filming, conferences, wedding receptions, parties, and away-days.

Terrace

The Terrace is located to the right of the theatre building. From inside, is accessed through a glass door beyond the Box Office. Alternatively, it can be reached from Uxbridge Road at street level via a ramp or steps.

Seating: there is cushioned bench seating with no back rests in the indoor Terrace area, and a range of stools, metal chairs and benches with back rests on the outdoor Terrace.

How to get here

The Bush Theatre is based in the old Passmore Edwards Public Library building on Uxbridge Road, right next to the vibrant Shepherd’s Bush Market.

The Bush Theatre building in Shepherd’s Bush contains our two performance spaces – the Holloway Theatre, our main space, and the intimate Studio – as well as our script library, bar and café, terrace, and rehearsal room.

Entrance

There are two. One on the Uxbridge Road at the front of the building through the porch up four steps. The theatre’s Library Bar is straight ahead, the Gianni and Michael Alen-Buckley Script Library is to the left, and the Box Office to the right.

The second entrance is accessible via a ramp suitable for wheelchair users and buggies to the right hand side of the building, or via four steps. There is an automatic double glass door. From here the Box Office is to the left and the Holloway Theatre, Library Bar and Gianni and Michael Alen-Buckley Script Library are beyond the Box Office around the corner.
