Whether you’re looking to celebrate a big birthday, put on a show or market for the community, hold a conference for your company or host your wedding at Big Penny Social in Walthamstow, we have a number of flexible spaces you can hire.

Our largest dedicated event space has capacity for up to 700 but there are also lots of options for smaller gatherings. Groups of up to 60 can book tables right here on the website. A new type of venue, Big Penny Social is all about community - it’s a pub, arts centre and town square all rolled into one. A place to eat, drink and be entertained; for all ages and every walk of life; a place to enjoy a quick pint, or a place that’s easily large enough for you to host birthday parties and after-work drinks for the whole team, watch live sports, entertain the family or gather for a national celebration.

Located just off Blackhorse Lane, Walthamstow, Big Penny Social is enormous - with a total capacity of 1400, it’s got a beer hall, versatile events space and one of the largest sunny beer gardens in East London.

The food and drink menu focuses on seasonal ingredients and local producers, headlined by a rotating selection of beers, sourdough pizzas and Sunday roasts. Everyone’s needs are catered for, with alcohol-free beer on tap, a huge selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes, plenty of choices for kids, and options for gluten-free (and other) special diets.

Event Space

Our versatile Event Space plays host to a huge range of events, from awards ceremonies and away days to gigs, conferences, filming and parties. With a private bar, separate access to our huge garden, and the ability to partition the room for smaller events, it is hugely flexible.

Garden

Our large garden is a real sun trap and is filled with beautiful greenery. You can hire a section for your event or the entire space as part of a whole building hire. It shares linked access to our Event Space, providing a fantastic indoor/outdoor combination for all events, or a backup indoor space in case of wet weather.

Beer Hall

Our hugely atmospheric Beer Hall is the largest in the UK, and provides a unique setting for smaller groups or large parties. The Beer Hall is only available as an exclusive hire as part of a whole building hire, making full use of our 1400 capacity.

Walthamstow-on-Sea

Transport yourself to Walthamstow-on-Sea, the ultimate destination for a summer party! As well as food from our beachfront fish and chip shack, we can organise a barbecue, food trucks or even the option to bring your own caterer.
